Portas Largas

Portas Largas is the main gay gathering point in Bairro Alto. It’s opposite to the club Fragil, another must-visit venue during your stay in the city. The crowd is mixed and very international, many Brazilians, Africans and tourists.

There’s some tables inside, but most people stand outside and check eachother out. Portas Largas has style and class, and cute musculair Brazilian waiters that bring many good looking friends. Ask them for a caipirinha.

Nice and cool two-floored designer bar where the young and fashionable meet and zip cocktails. Best hours to visit are from 17:00 till 23:00. At luch time the place is a bit quiet but still expect to find beautiful people. Dj’s every night.

There’s some girls around but the cute and hip guys have the upper hand.

Herois is just around the corner of the famous tradional coffee shop ‘a Brasileira’.
